Wearing
A thousand masks
They come.
Satin civility,
Rhodium arrogance,
Porcelain fear
Preaching
The exclusive love,that
trickles
from
The rigid heart
Of literalism.
And their closeted
Minds,
Become sanctuaries
For prejudice.
As they conceive
Wall upon wall
To imprison
The vibrant soul of
Truth,
Yet somewhere
In the shadows
Of their Masquerade
Lives
the Lover
Rhapsodising
The Mystery
On the unfretted strings of
Wildness
Greeting the acerbic tones
Of a frightened world,
With a nectared melody of hope.
In this way
Wall-less
Love,

the cloistered city,
That soft crimson Angel who
Whispers,
“Be not afraid, Beloved.
The music always wins.”

Beautiful, as always. I always feel better when I visit.
Dear Kylie,
Thanks for your kind words my friend.
Like the poem I wrote before this, I was inspired by watching this clip of vivaldi's winter...which has always been one of my favourite pieces of music.... How a mind can conceive of such passion...amazes me...
This clip of the masquerade juxtaposed (who knows how to spell that word anyway ;) ) to the passion of the musician... reminded me of that great contrast between the conformist and the non conformist...
Moreso it reminds me of the contrast between dogmatic, literalist...and the lover who includes all... which as you know is one of the great passions of my life ;)
Much love and 'the music' to you,
M
Dear Just me,
I always feel better when you visit too my friend ;)
Thanks for your gentle presence here,
Sending you a day full of passionate love and peace,
M
Hi Darling,
Vivaldi. My favorite. Love Winter, but also Spring, Summer, Fall! Stunning, beautiful words by both of you.
Love you dear.
Me
i'm back!
your spelling is perfect and be sure i'd tell you if it weren't.
i have to wait to get back to full speed broadband before i view the clip so cant comment except to say that i also enjoy vivaldi.
theres not too much music happening right now so your wishes are more than usually meaningful. thanks

this was simply beautiful bro.
strong, wild, raw, powerful, enigmatic...
"Rhapsodising
The Mystery
On the unfretted strings of
Wildness"
Hey there Suze,
Aint he the best!
Something so passionate, so wild in his music....
This movement of the four seasons...the violins going wild... always leaves me breathless... digs deep into my heart and awakens my passion...
I think we all need that every now and then... to arouse that passionate part of us and allow it to teach us about living...
Love to you friend,
M
Dear Kylie,
I never spell check lol...or grammar check for that matter... so i'm sure there are thousands of mistakes in these little ole posts... But i think its good to be imperfect sometimes... I've actually had emails from some readers tellin me... "Maithri, just letting you know you spell it this way"... LOL!! Keep em comin folks... I need all the help i can get...;) ;)
Music has always been central in my life... I realised recently that music has become my metaphor for the mystery...
We need to stay close to the music.... to the things which move and inspire us... which bring us close to the wild, and to God.
Love to you, M
Dear Brandi,
Thank you for hearing, for your presence here.
May you walk this day with the knowledge of your own wild beauty,
My love to you,
M
Dear Sister Crash,
Your words always touch my heart my sister.
Thank you for the gift you are to the world.
You are all those things
"Strong, powerful, enigmatic."
Deep power, passion and tender love to you,
Maithri
vivaldi seasons classic
Maithri, this poem is a masterpiece in metaphors! Your muse is certainly powerfully with you. I put this one right up there with the masters of Love:Hafiz, Rumi, kabir!

Fabulous truth, Maithri!
Thank you for the love and beauty and The Truth.
You write so beautifully Maithri. Whenever I come here I feel so much love emanating from you, and all who visit! I have to admit this video caught me off guard in the beginning...the masks! Masks of any kind have always frightened me since I was a child...but your poem has shed new light on why...hiding Truth, hiding Love...just simply turn away from that and hear the music for yourself, it’s there, waiting for you! So beautiful, thank you Maithri.
Love and peace,
Kristie
(ps. a lovely piece by Vivaldi!)
I'm, well, speechless! Maithri, you are the butterfly net, capturing the magic, the moment, the realness, the meaning, the now of everything that passes through your world.....
I miss you friend,
been walking on the edge of the earth and waving, though...
Peace~love

This is lovely selection, perfect for you blog 'soaring impulse'. Reminds me of my younger violin days. 'In the shadows of their masquerade', thats nice.
take care
Maithri,
Your words are like a meteor through my Soul taking the very essence and gently tapping out a melody.
Music is life!
Much love.
Great closing line... the music does always win. It can break through anything.
Dear Ruben H,
It really is a classic. Thanks for your kind comment,
Best wishes to you,
M
Dear Miruh,
You humble me with your warm words.
Those poets you mentioned are heroes of love. They have the unique ability to enrapture the written word into love.
Thank you for finding beauty in my little words,
Blessings of love and light to you,
Maithri.
PS your website is beautiful!!
Dear Reverend Nick,
Thank you my friend for your kindness. It is always deeply appreciated.
I know you understand the dangers of fundamentalism and literalism... And the disturbing, transfiguring power of love,
Peace and light, M
Dear Kristie,
Thank you so much for sharing your light with me here. A warm welcome to my humble site.
You know, the masks in that video disturbed me a little too when I watched it the first time... But it was the power of that piece of music and the 'maskless' musician in the midst of it all that reminded me that even in worlds of luxury and conformity.... there is always a lover, a poet, a free bird singing a different song...
This little poem is an ode to 'difference'... in all its variegated beauty,
Thanks again for your gracious words,
With love and blessings, Maithri
My beloved sister Singleton,
I think you know I know that you embody the gypsy lover that i wrote about in this poem...
Your wild beauty, untamed creativity and tender belief in peace~love in the midst of a frightened world.... inspires me...more than you could ever know...
Thank you for being in this world,
You light it up,
You set it on fire,
Love, So much love to you, M
Dear Karma,
Yes!! I hear ya sista! What is so wrong with truth...
Why are we so afraid of it... why do we build prisons and wield guns to stop its work in the world...
The truth... will set us free,
Love and freedom, Maithri
Dear Neers,
A warm welcome to you to this little place my sister.
Your words remind me of a poem by Oriah Mountain dreamer... it says something like...
"Can you still stand at the edge of the lake of the full moon... and shout "Yes" "
Yes to life... Yes to love,
Yes to the song that is this day,
Love and music to you, M
Dear Gill,
You're one wise lady you know that... :)
The paradox is... that truth... is the mystery...and the mystery is truth....
In our desire for security, for rigid answers, for black and white and nothing in between....
What we are actually doing is grasping at shadows...
Truth is only seen by those who let go... who love without walls...
Like a butterfly rising through cloudy skies...
Truth is the rose that is held by the hands of the mystery,
Love, Deep love,
to you, M
Dear Sister Krishna,
Your wisdom and love are like soft stars in the night sky my sister,

Dear Princess,
Aint it the truth! :)
Music is invisible, its untouchable and yet it soothes the heart of the most savage beast...it lifts the soul... it breaks through the din and brings peace, love and truth to the soul of humanity.
Sending you wild music this day,
With love, Maithri
