We who believe in freedom

When I am tired or lonely.

When I feel that who I am or what I do is not appreciated.

I think of the 40 million beautiful human beings living with HIV/AIDS in this world. Of the little child that dies every 3 seconds because they have nothing to eat.

I think on their dignity. Their courage.

I name them 'my family'.

I name them my own.

And once again I am strong.

"We who believe in freedom,

cannot rest....

until it comes"

Love the world into change,

Maithri

A Whisper of hope

In the days and weeks to come I want to present little ways in which we can all make a difference in this world, with the little we have.

For every purchase of this beautiful book called "Love - the words of Mother Teresa", 'the hungersite' will donate 25 cups of food to people without food.

http://shop.thehungersite.com/store/item.do?itemId=32741&siteId=220&sourceId=807&sourceClass=Category&index=19

If you dont have 15 dollars right now, just visit the site and click... and you will fund a cup of food to someone in need.

Our whispers of hope, will call fire from the sky,

I believe...

21 whispers of hope:

I also like your perspective. :)

The HungerSite and the free rice site are two of my favorites. The latter offers a cup of rice for each correct answer on a vocabulary quiz.

Dear Shimmerings,

Hey there my friend...

I'm one of the haunted... The experience of working in conditions of extreme poverty and illness...has changed me more than any other experience in my life...

It has radically changed the lens through which i view the world.

I know that all of us can help. All of us can make a difference.

I read today of an employee in an american supermarket being trampled to death by shoppers...

Sometimes we all need to take a deep breath and remember whats important.

With love to you, M

Dear Sister Sorrow,

I feel it my sister. I feel it.

And I send it back
on wings,

With love, M

Dear Pam,

Great to see you here,

Its always the little things
which matter,

Sending you blessings of peace and hope,

M

Dear Chani,

Free rice and the hungersite do amazing work. I have seen first hand the world food program delivering bags of corn soya and food for starving people.

It is real. And it happens every day.

May we never forget our brothers and sisters in need,

With love, Maithri

You have a way of putting my silly, petty concerns into perspective. I need that. Thank you!

Maithri said...

Dear Diane,

Thanks so much for your comment.

We all need that ;)!

We need to remember the fantasy world in which we live when the vast majority of the world live in squallor and illness.

Sending you my love and thanks for all you are and do,

Maithri
